Antelope Island Stampede and Balloon Launch

Every year we like to go to the Antelope Island balloon launch. Even though we have yet to see a real successful one. This year was blustery and cloudy, but we went regardless. We got up early and loaded our bike into the van. We ask Scott and Paige if they would shuttle us from the parking lot outside the gate to the event and then drive our van home afterwards so we could ride our bike.

Crazy Winds

It was cool. I'm glad I brought my sweatshirt. They did try to inflate a couple of balloons but none could launch because of the winds. I could see why it's scary to launch around alot of people because the ropes get pull across a huge area. But it was an education and lots of fun. Kazzie ask if she could be the photographer and she took a few of the shots. We had a great time looking at all the beautiful colors.

After the disappointment of not seeing the balloons launch the kids needed a reward for their patients so over to the train ride we went. They love this little ride and it takes a while so Paige and Scott sat down to relax while Paige fed Emy.

Then Brian and I rode our bike home. We got a few sprinkles on us. But it was a good ride. Thanks to Scott and Paige for indulging us in our plans. Hope it was worth it for them.

McKay's family

McKay came following close behind Reese. There is 18 months difference in their age. McKay is a brilliant kid. He always learned things so quick, as a child he was always blowing me away. But on top of brains, agility, and quick wit, McKay has a kindness about him, he is tender and has a heart of gold. Sounds like a bragging mom but it is My blog and I can blog what I want too. He married Jena Ribe.
Jena is a fantastic person. To describe her talents would take pages. She is such an amazing mom, taxi driver, cheerleader, organizer, crafter, artist, cook, Wii player. You name it she can do it. And to top it off she got me hooked on Stephanie Meyer's books.
Moab is our first grandchild. What a beauty! She is such a darling. I love having our little Moab around. She is so fun. She has an infectious giggle and a bubbly personality. She loves to read, she plays soccer, is a fish in the swimming pool and can play the piano and she and Grammy have fun playing Wii together.
Nahvi'ah, oh what a corker. She is a little firecracker that one. She doesn't even have to say anything to get you laughing. She is an attention getter. She is smart and funny and knows how to use that combination to get what ever she wants. Whatever Nahvi wants Nahvi gets. (Honestly, she is so stinkin cute you just can't win)

Hyrum and Angie

Hyrum and Angie are our scholars. Hyrum met Angie while he was going to graduate school in San Francisco. They were married and Angie finished Law school at BYU. They have moved to Chicago in live in the heart of the city. Right straight above the yacht club on Lake Michigan. They live in a skyscraper on the 54th floor penthouse with a 120 degree view of the great lake. It is amazing. Angie is practicing law with Kirkland and Ellis. She's such a dedicated worker and devoted wife and spiritual giant. Hyrum was tele-communting with Wells Fargo but has decided to get a doctorate degree. He is trying to decide if he wants to go to medical school. I talked him into getting a little bit of medical experience and he got a CNAs certificate. I'm not sure if he liked doing that but I think he got a taste of what I do as a RN

Paige's Sparrows

A son is a son 'til he meets his wife - a daughter is a daughter for the rest of her life. There is a lot of truth to that statement. The most important woman in a sons life is his wife. (As it should be) But for a daughter I can still be the most important woman in her life. Son's have a difficult time in knowing where sharing their lives and sharing confidences separate. So they say less so they won't to say too much. But a daughter, seem to be able to know were confidences start and can go into other conversations going over everything because we have so much in common. What to wear, how we exercise, what to eat, how to make a child or husband happy, how to teach a concept, how to earn a little spending money, what to spend your money on. We just share ideas forever. Now boys don't get your feelings hurt.... it's just a woman thing. We got really close while Scott was gone, Just after Scott left for his training for his deployment in Iraq, she found out she was expecting her third child. When he was born she had a new 3 year old a 18 month old and a newborn. So for the time 18 months he was gone we got very close. I do have a lot of fun with Paige. It use to freak us out how much a like we are. We would show up at each others house with a new pair of shoes only to find out that the other had just got the very same shoes. I can't begin to tell you how many times we've gone places and found we were dressed like twins. No pre-planning. Sometimes we will say or come up with an idea at the same time and this really blew Scott away after he returned.
Paige is a stay at home mom. She is crafty and has worked with "Stampin' Up" and now has her own website selling hair bows. It's girlycurlboutique.com
Like all my children, she too picked a great spouse. And as a Grandma all I can do is brag about my grandchildren. Paige has four of my six grandkids. Mason 7, McKazlyn 6, Evan is 41/2 and Emy is 14 mos.
